Best Award Winning Beaches at Benalmadena

I give theses two beaches a massive 5 ✭✭✭✭✭✭ Stars – for me the best beaches in Benalmádena are two beaches which are really joined together. Here you can experience magical sunsets and moons while listening to the gentle lapping of the waves. Watching the transformation from day into evening time these are ideal places for reflection on the day, and preparing to unwind if you have been working.

Villa Magica beach
Tajo de la Soga

From Kalifato beach, which is accessed by parking on the Calle Guadalquivir and going under road by the tunnel to the beach, to the beach at el Tajo de la Soga which you get to by just walking along the track which is called the Sendero (track) de Playa Carvajal. At the bay of Kalifato the water is crystal clear, and the surface is mostly sand, with small grit at the surf line. As you go nearer to El Tajo de la Soga, they landscape becomes more rugged and natural. You can find many wild flowers and plants there like wild lavender, pampas grass, oleanders growing wild and wild fennel which scents the air. There are rocks near the coast line, coated with seaweed which helps marine life, plenty of fascinating rock pools and lovely shells to collect. I have spent many a late afternoon here watching the birds using the rocks as a launch pad, or a look-out for fish, or merely hanging together.

If you can park further near the Hotels Holiday World you will find the Bar Gecko which is great for an early evening chill out before going home, or if you find yourself at the Cubana bar down on the Kalifato end of this stretch of beach you will a great variety of Latino based snacks, wraps, mojitos, pastas and rice dishes. Fabulous cocktails for an evening hang outs with friends. The restaurant at Kalifato beach itself, called the Restaurante Kalifato, serves traditional Spanish tapas, salads and cooked dishes such as the favourite Rosada Frita con Patatas Fritas (Fried fish with chips)! The famous Paella, and Huevos Rotos (Egg dish). These are the best award winning beaches of Benalmadena (featured on TVE1 (Spanish National TV) and very fortunately for my guests it is the nearest beach for Villa Magica too!
